Alpha Scrappa Chi
Our Sisters Scrapbook, do yours?

It's a circle of smiles, it's a place you're proud to bring friends, it's a warm smile, and a meaningful hug, it's studying for a purpose, it's life long friends, it's your sister's surprise happiness, it's standing up and being heard, it's a pin, a flower, a creed, it's part of you forever.

In the beginning...

Starting in 2003, it became clear to the employees of Amandalinz that there was a need for a social club that would cater to our scrapbooking pals.  We found that while the regular crops are so much fun, they still didn’t offer quite the right recipe for allowing folks to make new, lasting friendships because attendance was so changeable.  But would women really take time out of their busy schedules to commit to a club here?  After hosting a nationally run scrap “book” club for 6 months, we discovered that yes, if you offer it, the scrappers will come!  It became clear, however, that gals in our area needed a more personal touch to the kits and classes than the national book club could offer.  This is how we hatched the idea for Alpha Scrappa Chi, adding in our own crazy ideas for outrageous events and activities...whether it be dressing up as a lobster for Beach Party Day or winning badges for Feats of Extraordinary Scrappin - don’t be afraid, join on in all the craziness and fun.  You’re gonna love it here!

Please tell me more...

Okay, our Alpha Scrappa Chi Sorority meets once a month, usually the 3rd Saturday of each month from 11:00 until 5:00.  The day is broken down in the following way.  A 2-hour exclusive class to start each meeting, using techniques and products that are not featured in our regular classes.  We break for lunch which is provided by club members, and then have an all-day crop.  There is a 6 month sign-up commitment since we are building community in the club.  Each month's dues are $18 (some months maybe higher due to supplies used).  There are numerous other on-going activities and swaps during the 6 months, including embellishment swaps, card swaps, page swaps, and page relays.  We have a Yahoo Chat board community as well, so that friendships are maintained between meetings.
